1. WAIVER

By purchasing a ticket or participating in any Our House activity or event, participants agree that Our House (including all its staff, employees, consultant, photographers, videographers, directors, crew, shareholders, representatives, associates, assistants, affiliates, and/or assignees) is not responsible for any death, illness, injury, loss or damage of any kind sustained by any person while participating in the event and all related activities, caused in any manner whatsoever.

By purchasing a ticket or participating in any Our House activity or event, participants acknowledge that they are aware of the possible risks, dangers and hazards associated with participating in the event and all related activities of the event, including the possible risk of severe or fatal injury to themselves or others. These risks include, but are not limited to travel (the risks associated with travel and all related activities including transport by public or private motor vehicle, buses, aircraft, etc.), wether (any injury, illness, death, loss or damage resulting from exposure to weather elements), and/or physical (physical injuries such as muscular injuries, bruises, scrapes, cuts, sprains, dislocations, broken bones, and head, facial or dental injuries which might result from an accidental injury, illness resulting from food poisoning or parasites, and the possibilities of physical confrontations whether caused by themselves or some other person or persons resulting in injuries and/or death.

Participants accept and assume all such risks, dangers and hazards and the possibility of personal injury, death, permanent disability, property damage or loss resulting thereof.

Participant agree to:

1. Waive any and all claims that they have or may have against Our House and its members, officers, employees, students, agents and independent contractors as a result of their participation in the event and all related activities;

2. To release Our House from any and all liability from any loss, damage, injury or expense that they may suffer, or that my next of kin may suffer as a result of my participation in the event and all related activities due to any cause whatsoever;

3. To indemnify and hold harmless Our House from any and all liability for any damage including consequential damages to the property of Our House, or personal injury to, any third party, resulting from their participation in the event and all related activities; and

4. Not rely upon any oral or written representations or statements made by Our House other than what is set forth in this ticket description for the event.

2. RESEARCH

For the purposes of improving the quality and impact of our programmes, to monitor how these programmes are benefitting our community, and to contribute to ongoing research on queer human rights, Our House may request participants for voluntary feedback on the classes, workshop, and events. 

In addition, Our House may document classes, workshops, and events through photography, videography, and other artistic and creative mediums in support of such research.

3. RELEASE

Without expectation of compensation or other remuneration, now or in the future, the participant in any and all Our House activities gives their consent to Our House (including all its staff, employees, consultant, photographers, videographers, directors, crew, shareholders, representatives, associates, assistants, affiliates, and/or assignees) to use their (including property) image and likeness and/or any interview statements from them in the Our House publications, advertising or other media activities (including the Internet). 

This consent includes, but is not limited to: 

1. Permission to interview, film, photograph, tape, record, or otherwise make a video and/or media reproduction of them and/or record their voice; 

2. Permission to use their name; 

3. Permission to use quotes from the interview(s) (or excerpts of such quotes), the film(s), photograph(s), tape(s) or reproduction(s) of themselves, and/or recording of their voice, in part or in whole, in its publications, in newspapers, magazines and other print media, on television, radio and electronic media (including the Internet), in theatrical media and/or in mailings. 

Our House retains the right to use the photographs, video, audio and products or images in any manner, at any time and in any part of the world for self-promotional purposes – including but not limited to advertising, publication, publicity, display, web and online content or anything else promoting Our House business. 

The participant hereby releases Our House and their legal representatives and assigns from all claims and liability in relation to said photographs. Participants give their consent voluntarily, enthusiastically, in perpetuity, and does not require prior approval by Our House.

Participants acknowledge that Our House are hereby recognised and constituted as the Author of the works and/or content (images, videos, audio and products) produced and shall be the owners of the copyright therein in South Africa and throughout the world and universe and acknowledged as such.
